نہالي nihāl-ī P s. f. 1. A young plant. 2. A kind of quilt, small carpet, a cushion.

نکبت nakbat A (from نکب) s. f. Adversity, ca- lamity, misfortune.

نساج nassāj A (adj. superl. of نسج) s. m. A weaver.

نيوش niyūsh P part. in compos. (of نيوشيدن) Hearing, hearer, listener.

نندوسي nandosī S̱. (ननंदृपति) s. m. Hus- bandʼs sisterʼs husband.

ناموري nām-war-ī P s. f. Celebrity, renown.

نشيمن nisheman P s. Place of sitting, seat, re- sidence, nest.

نخشاره naḵẖshāra H s. m. (dakh.) see رخساره ruḵẖsāra.

نوروز nau roz P s. m. New yearʼs day according to the Persian calendar; being that on which the sun enters Aries. This is called عامه or general: and, the sixth of the same month is called خاصه or particular. Both are celebrated by feasts, the liberation of prisoners, &c.

نچويا nachwaiyā S̱. (from ناچ) s. m. A dancer.
