نيستان nai-istān P or nai-stān (comp. of ي Reed, and استان or ستان Place) s. m. 1. A sugar plantation, field of sugar-cane. 2. A place where canes or reeds grow.

نگنداٴي nigandāʼī S̱. s. f. (see نگندنا) Quilting.

نکند ni-kand S̱. (from निर् prep. and कंद Root) adj. Rooted up, extirpated.

نظامت niz̤āmat A. (from نظم) s. f. 1. Arrange- ment, government, office of ناظم nāz̤im, q. v. 2. The administration of criminal justice.

نسا निशा nisā S s. f. Night. نسچر nis-char, s. m. A prowler: see نساچر beneath. نسچراٴي nis- char-āʼī, s. f. Prowling. نسچراٴي کرنا nis-char-āʼī karnā, To prowl. نساچر निशाचर nisā-char, 1. A demon. 2. A robber, a thief. 3. A noc- turnal animal, an animal that watches and feeds by night. نساکر يا نساناتهـ निशाचर nisā-kar, or निशानाथ nisā-nāth, The moon.

نضارت naẓārat A (from نضر Heb. ) s. f. Freshness, verdure, beauty, pleasingness, lustre, brightness, floridness.

نعل naﻌl A (Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. 1. Shoe (of a horse or man). 2. The ferrule at the end of a scabbard. 3. A hoof. 4. A wife. نعل بند naﻌl-band, A blacksmith who shoes horses, a farrier. نعل بندي naﻌl-band-ī, s. f. 1. Shoeing, giving a horse new shoes, in opposition to khol-bandī, which means changing a horseʼs shoes. 2. A light tribute.

ناکڙا nākṛā S̱. (from नक्र Nose) s. m. An inflam- mation in the nose.
