نکهورنا nikhornā S̱. or nikhoṛnā (निर् prep. and r. खुर Cut, scratch) v. a. To peel, skin, de- corticate, clean.

نيسان naisān P s. m. Name of the 7th Syrian month, corresponding to the Persian فروردين and Hindī بيساکهہ baisākh. ابرنيسان abr-i-naisān, or ابرنيساني abr-i-naisānī, 1. The vernal cloud or rain. 2. The rain which falls while the moon is in the mansion swāti; and of which, if it drops into a shell, pearls are formed; but which turns to poison, if it happens to fall into the mouth of a serpent. See سوات swāti.

ندي नदी nadī S or naddī, s. f. A river.

نزول nuzūl A (inf. from نزل) s. m. 1. Descent, alighting, sojourning. 2. A cataract (in the eye). نزول آب nuzūl-i-āb, A swelling of the testicle, which (excepting the case of a blow, or of hernia) is universally ascribed to the descent of water: the term, therefore, comprehends hy- drocele, hernia humoralis, and scirrhus.

نٿ کهٿ naṭ-khaṭ S̱. adj. Roguish, waggish, art- ful, trickish, shrewd; (subst.) A cheat.
