نزار nizār P adj. Thin, lean, slender, subtile.

نندي नन्दी nandī S s. m. The name of one of Sivaʼs chief attendants.

نرملي nir-mal-ī S (निर्मली or in Sans. कतक) s. f. Name of a seed with which water is cleared. (Strychnos potatorum).

نگار nigār P 1. part. act. (from نگاريدن) in compos. Painting. 2. s. m. A picture, painting, portrait, effigy, idol. 3. A beautiful wo- man, a mistress. نگار آلود nigār-ālūd, Painted, made beautiful as a painting. نگار خانه يا نگارستان nigār-ḵẖāna, or nigār-istān, A picture- gallery.

ناتهنا nāth-nā नाथन S̱. v. a. To bore a bullockʼs nose and put a string in it to guide him by.

نشست nishast P (from نشستن) s. f. Sitting. نشست برخاست nishast-barḵẖāst, s. f. Man- ners, good breeding, etiquette, politeness. نشست گاه nishast-gāh, s. f. A place where people meet to sit and talk, sitting-room.

نقاد naḳḳād A (adj. superl. of نقد) s. m. A per- son whose business it is to examine money and ascertain its goodness; an adept, assayer. A. T. نقارچي naḳār-chī, s. m. One who beats the kettledrum. A. P. نقارخانه naḳār-ḵẖāna, The place at the porch of a palace where the drums are beaten at stated intervals.

نافه nāfa P s. m. A pod of musk. (Also نافۀ مشک nāfa-e-mushk).

نہرانا nihurānā H or نہڙانا nihuṛānā (causal of نہرنا, &c.) v. a. To cause to crook, to bend, to bow.
