ننگ nang P s. m. 1. Honour, reputation, es- teem. 2. (on the contrary) Disgrace, infamy. ننگ وناموس nang-o-nāmūs, Honour, shame, disgrace.

نمد namad P s. m. Felt, or a coarse woollen cloth formed without weaving, used in coverings for horses or in garments to keep off rain. 2. Membrum virile. نمد پوش namad-posh, Clothed in felt. نمد پوشي namad- posh-ī, s. f. The being clothed in felt, &c. نمد مو namad-mū, adj. Having hair like namad.

نسا निशा nisā S s. f. Night. نسچر nis-char, s. m. A prowler: see نساچر beneath. نسچراٴي nis- char-āʼī, s. f. Prowling. نسچراٴي کرنا nis-char-āʼī karnā, To prowl. نساچر निशाचर nisā-char, 1. A demon. 2. A robber, a thief. 3. A noc- turnal animal, an animal that watches and feeds by night. نساکر يا نساناتهـ निशाचर nisā-kar, or निशानाथ nisā-nāth, The moon.

نسيلا nasīlā A. adj. 1. (from نس) Veined. 2. (from نسل) Of good breed.

نرغا narg̠ẖā U s. m. 1. Surrounding. نرغا کرنا narg̠ẖā karnā, To surround. 2. (dakh.) A kind of long drum much broader in the centre than at either end. (Qanoon-e-islam).

نربيج nir-bīj S (निर् prep. and वीज Seed) adj. 1. Without seed, childless. 2. Extinct (a race or family). S. نرپ नृप (comp. of नृ Man, and part. act. from r. पा Preserve) nr̤ip or nr̤ipa, s. m. A king, a prince.

ناطقه nāt̤iḳa A (part. act. fem. from نطق) adj. f. Speaking, rational. s. m. The faculty of speech.
