نقيب naḳīb A (from نقب Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. 1. A chief, a leader. 2. An intelligent person. 3. A servant whose business it is to proclaim the titles of his master, and to intro- duce those who pay their respects to him. 4. An adjutant or aide de camp.

نشاني nishānī P s. f. 1. A mark, sign, token, model. 2. A token of remembrance, keepsake.

نباض nabbāẓ A (adj. superl. of نبض) s. m. One who feels the pulse, a physician.

نرلوبهي निर्लोभी nir-lobh-ī S adj. Not covetous, void of avarice, contented.

نخل naḵẖl A s. m. A date tree, a palm tree (and often used for a young tree of any kind), a plant. نخل بند naḵẖl-band, s. m. A gardener, a maker of artificial trees and fruits of wax. نخلبندي naḵẖl-band-ī, A plantation.

نکل پڙنا nikal paṛnā S̱. v. n. To come out, to be drawn forth.

نوشه nau-shah P s. m. A bridegroom. ¶ nosha, adj. Fortunate, happy, prosperous, sweet, cheer- ful.

ناج nāj S̱. s. contract. of اناج anāj, q. v.

نلڐي nalḍī H s. f. (dakh.) Throat, windpipe.

نيل nail A s. m. Obtaining, acquiring. ¶ nīl, n. prop. The river Nile.
