نقد naḳd A (Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. Ready money, cash. نقدا نقد naḳd-ā-naḳd, Prompt payment.

نگوڙا nigoṛā (lit. H without feet, from نه priv. and گوڙ The foot) s. m. Wretch, wight.

نردهن निर्धन nir-dhan S adj. Void of wealth, poor.

نال nāl H 1. Along with, accompanying. سوچ بهي بهري کهري سکهي لکهـ نال کي Soch bhai bharī kharī sakhī lakhi nāl kī, Her accompanying friends, seeing this, were filled with extreme anxiety and terrour. 2. adj. Near. (Panjābī).

نچوڙنا nichoṛnā H v. a. To wring, squeeze, press, strain, express, extort, to exact.

نانچ nāṅch S̱. s. (dakh.) Dance, ball (Harris): see ناچ.

نکاح nikāḥ A s. m. Matrimony, marriage. (It is the most honourable kind of marriage, though in Bengal the term be only applicable to a se- condary kind). A. P. نکاحي nikāḥ-ī, adj. Married (woman).

نگر नगर nagar S s. m. A city, a town. نگر ناري nagar-nārī, s. f. A courtezan.

نوارنا nawārnā H v. n. 1. To travel, to walk, to wander, to stray. 2. To go round, to surround.

نقيب naḳīb A (from نقب Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. 1. A chief, a leader. 2. An intelligent person. 3. A servant whose business it is to proclaim the titles of his master, and to intro- duce those who pay their respects to him. 4. An adjutant or aide de camp.
