منہار manuhār S̱. or manuhāri (मनोहारि) s. f. Charming, fascinating, delighting, captivating the mind. S̱. منہاري 1. manihār-ī, s. f. The trade in jewels, &c. 2. man-hārī (मनोहारी from मनस् The mind, and r. हृ Steal) adj. mas. Heart-stealer.

مسين masīn S̱. (from s. माष Vetch, or मसीना Linseed) s. m. A vetch, pulse.

منجيرا manjīrā मंजीर S̱. s. m. Name of a musical instrument, a kind of cymbal. (It consists of two small brass cups tied together with a string, and played upon by striking one against the other. Herklots).

مـﮩمل muhmal A mas. (part. pass. IV. of همل) adj. 1. Obsolete, not in use, without meaning (a word, &c.). 2. Without points (a letter). 3. A buffoon. Plur. مـﮩملات muhmalāt, Absurdities.

مد madd A (Heb. and Aram. ) s. f. 1. Ex- tension, production, lengthening. 2. The flux of the sea, flood-tide. مد وجزر madd-o-jazr, Tide, the flux and reflux of the sea. 3. The mark (~) placed sometimes over alif, thus آ, when the letter is pronounced long and broad. 4. A peculiar mode of writing certain words in accounts. مد ظله madda z̤illu-hu, May his sha- dow, or power be extended. مد نظر madd-i-naz̤ar, or مد نگاه madd-i-nigāh, s. f. 1. Exten- sion or stretch of sight, as far as the eye can reach, the object of sight, regard, prospect, before the eyes, in view, in sight. 2. Kind looks, encouragement. ¶ mudd, A dry mea- sure equal to one and one third rat̤l, or according to others to two rat̤l.

مسل मुसल musal S s. m. A long, heavy, wooden pestle, used in clearing rice from the husk. مسل دهاربرسنا musal dhār barasnā, v. n. To rain very heavily.

مسيح masīḥ A (from مسح Heb. and Aram. ) n. prop. Messiah, Christ. مسيحا مزاج masīḥā-mizāj, adj. Of the nature or disposition of the Messiah.

مستفسر mustafsir A (part. act. X. of فسر Heb. and Ch. ) adj. Asking for explanation or interpretation, questioning, inquisitive.

مارو mār-ū S̱. (from مارنا) adj. in compos. Smiting, striking; striker, killer.
