منہاج minhāj A (from نہج Heb. and Aram. ) s. Highway or road.

متسلم mutasallim A (part. act. V. of سلم Heb. ) adj. Receiving any thing in charge, keeping in possession. ¶ mutasallam (part. pass.) Delivered, consigned.

مٿهاٴي miṭhā-ī S̱. s. f. 1. (मिष्ठान्न) A sweet- meat. 2. Sweetness. S̱. P. مٿهاٴي گر miṭhāʼī-gar, s. m. A maker of sweet- meats, confectioner.

موسيقار mūsīḳār P s. A musical instrument made of long and short reeds set together in a tri- angular form, used by dervises or shepherds; pandean pipes: some say the word means a bird with many holes in its beak from which holes various sounds issue.

مرفا marfā P. s. m. A kind of drum (beat at both ends), or like a ḍhol, covered at both ends with leather, but played on at one end only with a stick: see Qanoon-e-islam.

مشربه mashraba A or mashruba, s. m. A banquet- ting room, a place of drinking. ¶ mishraba, A vessel for drinking.

مکرنا mukarnā H (perhaps corrupt. of Arab. منکر) v. a. To deny.

مادهولتا mādholatā माधवीलता S̱. s. f. A large creeper bearing white fragrant flowers. (Gærtnera racemosa).

موج mauj A s. f. 1. A wave, surge. 2. Whim, caprice. موج آجاني mauj ā-jānī, An imagina- tion to come into the mind. موج خيز mauj- ḵẖez, adj. Stormy, producing waves. موج رکهنا mauj rakhnā, To be proud. موج زن mauj-zan, Waving, wavy, boisterous, billowy, tumultuous, agitated, raging (sea). موج زني mauj-zan-ī, s. f. Waving, billowing. موج مارنا mauj mārnā, v. a. To billow, to wave; (met.) is applied to express self enjoyment without restraint. Mu- hammad Baḳā says: سيل سرشک اپنا جب سرباوج ماري طوفان نوح بيٿها گوشي مين موج ماري Sail-i-sarashk apnā jab sar ba-auj māre, t̤ūfān-i-Nūḥ baiṭhā goshe meṅ mauj māre. When the deluge of my tears rises to its height, that of Noah may amuse itself in a corner. موج نسيم mauj-i-nasīm, A cooling squall.
