من سلويٰ mann salwạ̄ A s. m. Manna and quails (wherewith the Jews were fed in the wilderness).

مالي माली mālī S s. m. A gardener.

مزاح muzāḥ A (from مزح) s. m. A jest, joke. ¶ mizāḥ (inf. III.) Jesting (with another per- son).

منجيٿ manjīṭ मंजिष्ठा S̱. s. f. See مجيٿهہ majīṭh.

مردد muraddid A part. act. (II. of ردّ) Repelling, resisting, moving to and fro in the mind. ¶ mu- raddad, part. pass. Perplexed in mind, lost, reprobated.

متعدد mutaʼaﻌddid A (part. act. V. from عدّ) adj. 1. Many, various. 2. Ready, prepared. 3. (subst.) A number exceeding 10,000. متعدد به mutaʼaﻌddid bihi, Of account or note.

مصلحت maṣlaḥat A (inf. of صلح) s. f. 1. The what is right, fit or correct, convenience, ex- pedience, an expedient, fitness. 2. Counsel, advice. 3. Affair. مصلحت کرني maṣlaḥat karnī, To consult, to advise, to counsel, to conspire, to combine. مصلحتا maṣlaḥatā or مصلحتاً maṣ- laḥataṉ, adv. Advisedly, expediently.

محصن muḥṣan A (part. pass. IV. of حصن) adj. Chaste, continent.

مجـﮩول majʼhūl A (part. pass. of جـﮩل) 1. Un- known, little known. 2. (subst.) Passive voice. 3. Applied to the letters و and ي when the former has the sound of o in bone, and the lat- ter that of a in name. 4. (In Hind.) Indolent, lazy, idle. مجـﮩول النسب majʼhūlu-n-nasab, adj. Unknown of lineage. مجـﮩول مطلق majʼhūl- i-mut̤laḳ, Very indolent or useless.
