مـﮩدي mahdī A s. m. Leader, guide; the name of the twelfth Imām, in the creed of the Shīʼaﻌs, who is still believed by them to be living.

معدن maﻌdan A (noun of place from عدن Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. f. A mine.

مونج mūnj मुंज S̱. s. f. The name of a grass of which ropes are made. (Saccharum munja: Roxb.).

مرد mard P s. m. A male, a man, a hero (vir). مرد آدمي mard-i-ādmī, A gentleman. مرد آدميت mard-i-ādmīyat, s. f. Gentility, generosity. مرد آزما mard-āzmā, adj. معقول maﻌḳūl A (part. pass. of عقل Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Intelligible, reasonable, pro- bable, just, pertinent, proper, fair, decent. Plur. معقولات maﻌḳūlāt, Probabilities, words or things consistent with reason. معقول بين maﻌ- ḳūl-bīn, Judicious, reasonable. معقول گو maﻌ- ḳūl-go, Speaking properly, conversable. معقول گوئي maﻌḳūl-go-ī, s. f. Pertinent or proper speaking.

معاوضت muʼāﻌwaẓat A s. f. (inf. III. of عوض) Retaliating, returning like for like, substitution, exchange.

مندتا मंदता manda-tā S s. f. Dulness, littleness, slowness, feebleness, badness.

منجمله min-jumla A (comp. of من From, and جمله Whole) adv. From, out of or upon the whole or the multitude; universally.

مجاورت mujāwarat A (inf. III. of جور) s. f. 1. Neighbourhood. 2. Constant attendance at temple, &c.

منده मंद manda S adj. See مندا mandā.
