A heron, cormorant. ماهي دندان māhī- dandān, A fishʼs tooth, of which the hilts of swords, &c. are made. ماهي فروش māhī-farosh, s. m. A fish-man, or -monger. ماهي گير māhī- gīr, s. m. 1. A fisherman. 2. An otter. (Lutra lutreola: Shaw). ماهي مراتب māhī-marātib, s. m. Certain honours, of which the privilege is especially conferred on princes and great nobles. They are denoted by the figure of a fish, with other insignia (two balls), carried as ensigns upon elephants.

منڐلانا manḍlānā S̱. (from मंडल) v. n. To make a circuit, to hover (as birds, &c.), to be enveloped.

متوفر mutawaffir A (part. act. V. of وفر) adj. Many, numerous, plentiful, copious.

مرتبت martabat A s. f. (from رتب) A step, degree, dignity, of- fice, employment, charge, rank of honour, class, order, time, turn. اس مرتبه is martaba, To this degree.
