متادب mutaʼaddab A (part. pass. V. of ادب) adj. Wellbred, polite, learned.

مانجها mānjhā H s. m. 1. A paste mixed with pounded glass, and applied to the string of a kite, to cut that of another with. 2. A feast given by a bridegroom, previous to the wedding. 3. The trunk of a tree.

متنجن گوسپندي mutanjan-i-gospandī P A kind of dish (pulāʼo) made of sheepʼs or goatʼs flesh.

منکا mankā H s. m. 1. A rosary, a bead (of gold?). 2. The vertebræ of the neck. منکا ڐهلکنا mankā ḍhalaknā (lit. The bending of the neck) To be at the point of death.

موطن maut̤in A (noun of place of وطن) s. m. Birth- place, dwelling, home.

ماهيانه māh-iyāna P s. m. Monthly pay.

مٿهـ muṭh S̱. (from मुष्ठि) s. The fist, blows with the fist, clutch, grasp: see مشت musht. مٿهـ مرد muṭh-mard, s. m. A robber, a ruffian.

مدد madad H s. (dakh.) Betel-leaf mixed with opium and used for smoking. (Qanoon-e-islam). A. P. مدد گار madad-gār, An assister, aider, pro- tector, ally, auxiliary, helper. A. P. مدد گاري madad-gār-ī, s. f. Assistance.

مـﮩدي mahdī A s. m. Leader, guide; the name of the twelfth Imām, in the creed of the Shīʼaﻌs, who is still believed by them to be living.

مـﮩلت muhlat A (from مـﮩل Heb. and Chald. ) s. f. 1. Retarding, deferring. 2. Delay, laziness, indolence, respite, time, leisure, intermis- sion, cessation, armistice.
