آکاس برت ākās-brit S̱. (आकाश The sky, and वृत्ति Livelihood) s. f. Subsistence not derived from any certain funds or depending on any par- ticular person; living from hand to mouth.

اغوا ig̠ẖwā A (inf. iv. of غوي Heb. Erred, acted perversely) s. m. Seduction, temptation, instigation. اغوا کرنا ig̠ẖwā karnā, To seduce, lead astray, tempt.

آتشي ātash-ī P adj. Fiery, hot, irascible. آتشي شیشه ātash-ī shīsha, A burning glass. آتشین آب ātashīn āb, Wine. آتشین خو ātashīn-ḵẖo, adj. Fiery in disposition, irascible.

اکال अकाल a-kāl S 1. s. m. Unseasonableness, famine, scarcity, extremity, pinch. 2. adj. Un- seasonable, premature, untimely. अकालवृष्टि akāla-vr̤ish̤ṭi, Untimely rain.

اٿهان uṭhān उत्थान S̱. s. m. 1. An area or court. 2. Rising, ascension, appearing.

آسیس āsīs S̱. or asīs (आशिस् from आ and r. शास Rule) s. f. Blessing, benediction, return of compliment from a Hindū superiour.

آتش بار ātash-bār P adj. Flaming, fiery, raining fire. s. A firelock, a tinder-box.

اعتقاد iﻌtiḳād A (inf. viii. of عقد) s. m. Con- fidence, faith, trust, belief. (Plur. اعتقادات).
