مسلمان musalmān A. (from سلم) s. m. A believer, a Muhammadan. (Pers. plur. مسلمانان).

موتي motī मौक्तिक S̱. s. m. A pearl. موتي پروني motī pirone, 1. To string pearls. 2. (met.) To speak eloquently. 3. To weep (the tears being compared to pearls). Tapish says: سن سنکي ذکراشک ومژه مجهسي يون کہا جب تب نه آپ ايسي هي موتي پروينگي Sun sunke ẕikr-i-ashk o mizha mujh-se yūṅ kahā; jab tab na āp aise hī motī piroʼenge, Having repeatedly heard of my tears and eye- lashes, she said, will you ever and anon be

موري morī P s. f. A pipe or subterraneous pas- sage (for water). S̱. موڙ 1. moṛ (r. मुर Encircle, &c.) s. m. A turn, twist, convolution, writhe, sprain: fistula (Harris). 2. mūṛ (मुंड) s. m. The head. 3. mauṛ (मौलि) s. m. A kind of high crowned hat, worn by the bridegroom at the time of marriage.

ميسور maisūr A (part. pass. of يسر) adj. Faci- litated, made easy, prosperous, going on suc- cessfully. Plur. مسورات maisūrāt, Prosperous affairs, good fortune. P. S. ميش mesh (Sans. मेष) s. m. 1. A sheep, a ram. 2. The sign Aries. ميش چشم mesh- chashm, adj. Sheepish, sheep-eyed; (met.) A blockhead.

ميواتي mewāt-ī H s. m. A tribe inhabiting the mountainous province of Mewāt, much addicted to robbing.

مبيت mabīt A (infin. or noun of place from بيت) s. Passing the night, place of repose at night, a bedchamber.

ماوا māwā A (from اوي) s. m. f. Dwelling, abode, habitation.

منقاش minḳāsh A (from نقش) s. Pincers, tweezers.

مارا جانا mārā-jānā S̱. v. n. 1. To be slain. 2. To be overcome. 3. To be overturned or sunk (as, a boat). 4. To be cut off (a caravan, de- tachment, &c.). S̱. H. مارا دهاڙي mārā-dhāṛī, s. (dakh.) Fight, conflict, scuffle.

منڐلانا manḍlānā S̱. (from मंडल) v. n. To make a circuit, to hover (as birds, &c.), to be enveloped.
