مشہود mashʼhūd A (part. pass. of شہد Chald. Heb. ) adj. Attested, proved, evinced, be- held, clear, manifest.

محضر maḥẓar A (noun of place from حضر) s. f. Royal presence, appearance, a general appli- cation or petition, a representation, statement of a case or suit laid before a judge, &c. محضر نامه maḥẓar-nāma, s. m. A muster-roll, list of those who are present.

مادهو माधव mādho S or mādhav, s. m. A name of Kr̤ish̤ṇa or Vish̤ṇu.

مستخرج mustaḵẖraj A (part. pass. X. of خرج) adj. Extracted, drawn out. ¶ mustaḵẖrij (part. act.) adj. Extracting, drawing out.

مزور mazūr P. (corrupt. of مزدور) s. m. A labourer.

مغيلان mug̠ẖailān P s. Name of a tree, called in Hindī ببول babūl and کيکڙ kīkaṛ, q. v. and in Arab. ام غيلان ummu g̠ẖailān, a species of Mi- mosa, or the acacia tree.

متعين mutaʼaﻌiyin A (part. act. V. from عين Heb. and Chald. ) adj. Appointed, fixed, consti- tuted, deputed, determined; s. m. Deputy, agent. متعين کرنا mutaʼaﻌiyin karna, To appoint, depute, &c.

ماهي māhī P s. f. A fish; the fish on which the earth is supposed to rest. ماهي توه māhī-tawa, s. m. A fryingpan. ماهي خوار māhī-ḵẖẉār, s. m. A heron, cormorant. ماهي دندان māhī- dandān, A fishʼs tooth, of which the hilts of swords, &c. are made. ماهي فروش māhī-farosh, s. m. A fish-man, or -monger. ماهي گير māhī- gīr, s. m. 1. A fisherman. 2. An otter. (Lutra lutreola: Shaw). ماهي مراتب māhī-marātib, s. m. Certain honours, of which the privilege is especially conferred on princes and great nobles. They are denoted by the figure of a fish, with other insignia (two balls), carried as ensigns upon elephants.

مقتل maḳtal A (noun of place of قتل Heb. and Aram. ) 1. A place of slaughter or of execu- tion. 2. The place of death, i. e. any diseased or wounded part of the body that causes death.
