مرچ mirch मरिच S̱. s. f. Pepper. گول مرچ gol-mirch, Black pepper. لال مرچ lāl-mirch, Capsicum or red pepper.

منخر minḵẖar A (or manḵẖir or minḵẖir or man- ḵẖar, noun of instrum. or place from نخر Heb. and Aram. ) s. f. The nostril. (Dual. منخرين minḵẖarain, The nostrils).

مصرف muṣrif A (part. act. IV. of صرف) adj. Prodigal. ¶ maṣraf (from صرف) s. m. Ex- penditure, expense, disbursement, cost, charge.

موتي چور motī-chūr S. s. m. 1. A kind of sweet- meat. 2. A certain description of eye among pigeons.

مرکهاها mar-khāhā S̱. adj. Addicted to beating, striking or butting (a man or animal). S̱. H. مرکهپنا mar-khapnā, v. n. To die.

معاودت muʼāﻌwadat A (inf. III. of عود Heb. ) s. f. Returning (to a former habitation); coming or going.

موسلا mūslā मुसली S̱. s. m. 1. A taproot. 2. The fusiform receptacle of a many-seeded fruit (as, of the Artocarpus, Annona, &c.). موسلا دهار برسنا mūslā-dhār barasnā, To rain very heavily.

مستزاد mustazād A (part. pass. X. of زيد Heb. ) 1. adj. Increased. 2. s. m. The name of a kind of verse, in which every line has a shorter one annexed to it (as the following from Mīr Soz:-- سن سوزعبث ديکهکي حيران هوگا خوبان کا جمال دل زلف مين الجهيگا پريشان هوگا مت لي يہہ وبال يہہ چال بري هي تجهہ سي نبهنيکي نہين آمان کہا کياهنستاهي توبہت پشيمان هوگا مت دانت نکال Sun Soz! aﻌbas̤ dekhke, ḥairāṅ hogā, ḵẖūbāṅ kā jamāl; dil zulf meṅ uljhegā, pareshāṅ hogā, mat le yih wabāl. Yih chāl burī hai, tujh se nibhne kī nahīṅ, ā mān kahā; kyā haṅstā hai? tū bahut pashemāṅ hogā, mat dānt nikāl. Hear, Soz! by idly looking on the beauty of the fair thou wilt be involved in perplexity; thy heart will be entangled in their tresses and much distressed; do not encounter this trouble. This is a dangerous course, which thou canst not pursue with safety. Come then, listen to my words. Why laughest thou? Do not shew thy teeth, thou wilt surely repent).

مصقله miṣḳala A (from صقل) s. An instrument with which a thing is polished.

مانـﮩو mānahu मन्य S̱. adv. Suppose, grant, as if, like, resembling.
