مٿي miṭṭī S̱. or maṭṭī (मृत्तिका) s. f. Earth. مٿي پر لڙنا maṭṭī par laṛnā, To dispute about land. مٿي پکڙنا miṭṭī pakaṛnā, 1. To bite the ground. 2. To be overcome, or overturned. 3. To be perverse, or obstinate, to resist. مٿي دينا maṭṭī denā, To bury. مٿي ڐالنا maṭṭī ḍālnā, To conceal the crime or fault of another. مٿي کرنا maṭṭī karnā, To ruin or destroy. مٿي مين ملنا maṭṭī meṅ milnā, To be ruined or dis- graced. مٿي کهانا maṭṭī khānā, To eat flesh. مٿي هونا maṭṭī honā, To become weak or faint, to be ruined.

مقتدي muḳtadī A (part. act. VIII. of قدو) s. Follower, imitator.

مکين makīn A (part. from مکن) s. m. f. Master of the house, inhabitant. adj. Firmly fixed.

موکهـ mokh S̱. (from मुख) s. m. An airhole, spy-hole, or hole in a wall for light, &c. S̱. موکها 1. mūkhā (मट्टक) s. m. The ridge of a thatch, the topping or coping of a wall. 2. mokhā (मुख) s. m. A small hole in a wall for admitting light and air, an airhole, an aperture.

مباشرت mubāsharat A (inf. III. of بشر) s. f. 1. Commencement or undertaking of any affair. 2. Congredi cum fœmina, inire eam, copulation.

محروميت maḥrūm-īyat A. (from حرم) s. f. Prohi- bition, disappointment.

مننا mannā S̱. (intrans. of ماننا or منانا) v. n. To be soothed, to be propitiated.

من سلويٰ mann salwạ̄ A s. m. Manna and quails (wherewith the Jews were fed in the wilderness).

منزلت manzilat A s. f. Dignity, station, condi- tion, rank, post of honour.

موسي mausī मसी S̱. s. f. An aunt, motherʼs sister.
