مد mad S s. m. 1. (for मद or मद्य) Wine, spirits. 2. (for मद) Pride, arrogance.

مسجع musajjaﻌ A (part. pass. II. of سجع) Rhyth- mical (speech), harmonious or measured (pe- riods).

مايا माया māyā S s. f. 1. Kindness, pity, sym- pathy, compassion, mercy, feeling, affection. 2. A deception depending on the power of the Deity, whereby mankind believe in the exist- ence of external objects, which are in fact nothing but idea; illusion, idealism. 3. Pros- perity, riches, opulence. مايا پاتر māyā-pātra, adj. Rich, opulent, wealthy.

مفتر muftar A (part. pass. IV. of فتر) adj. En- feebled, languid, weak.

مقتل maḳtal A (noun of place of قتل Heb. and Aram. ) 1. A place of slaughter or of execu- tion. 2. The place of death, i. e. any diseased or wounded part of the body that causes death.

منتقم muntaḳim A part. act. (VIII. of نقم Heb. and Aram. ) Taking revenge, avenging; avenger.

منڐکري مارني munḍkarī-mārnī S̱. To lie round with the knees to the belly.

معاملت muʼāﻌmalat A s. f. (inf. III. of عمل Heb. and Aram. ) Treaty, affair, business, negotiation, trans- action, behaviour, procedure, concern, cause or suit in law. (Plur. معاملات muʼāﻌmalāt). معامله رس muʼāﻌmala-ras, adj. Comprehending the af- fair, the transaction or the suit. معامله رسي muʼāﻌmala-ras-ī, s. f. The comprehension of the affair or suit, &c. معامله کرنا muʼāﻌmala karnā, To deal with, treat with, negotiate.
