لاگي lāg-ī S̱. (r. लग Come in contact) s. f. 1. A mark, butt. 2. Affection, love.

لتهيڙنا latheṛnā H (causal of لته؟نا) v. a. To drag- gle or besmear with dirt.

لالي پڙنا lāle paṛnā S̱. To be extremely desirous and unable fully to express oneʼs wishes. Mīr says:-- اس اسيري کي نه کوٴي اي صبا پالي پڙي ايک نظرگل ديکهني کي بهي همين لالي پڙي Is asīrī ke na koʼī, ai ṣabā! pāle paṛe; yak naz̤ar gul dekhne ke bhī hameṅ lāle paṛe. Oh zephyr! may no one fall into such bonds as these; I long to distraction for one look of the rose.

لامي lām-ī A adj. Of or relating to the letter lām.

لواٿ lūʼāṭ H see لوکٿ lūkaṭ.

لـﮩکنا lahaknā H v. n. 1. To be kindled or lighted, to rise up into a flame. 2. To glitter, flash, glance, shine. 3. To wave (as, herbage before the wind). 4. To warble, to quaver.

لٿ laṭ H s. f. 1. Tangled hair, a clotted lock (of hair). لٿ جانا laṭ jānā, To become entangled. 2. A tadpole. ¶ liṭ, s. f. A kind of bread.

لباب libāb A adj. plur. (of لبيب) The wise, pru- dent.

لڙک پن laṛak-pan S̱. s. m. Childhood, childishness.

لازمه lāzima A (part. act. of لزم) adj. Insepa- rably belonging or adhering (to), incumbent (on), necessary, requisite, ur- gent, suitable, proper, important, inseparable, indispensable. لازم ملزوم lāzim malzūm, Inti- mate friendship.
