گهڙيال ghaṛiyāl S̱. s. m. 1. (Sans. घटिक or घटी Pers. گريال) A plate of brass for beating time. 2. (घंटिका) A crocodile. S̱. گهڙيالي ghaṛiyāl-ī, s. m. The person who attends the ghaṛī and strikes the hours.

گڙهواڙ gaṛhwāṛ S̱. adj. Coarse, thick. See گاڙها.

کانهر kānhar H s. m. A name of Kr̤ish̤ṇa.

کلکل کانٿا kilkil-kānṭā H s. m. A game among boys. One boy, having drawn several lines upon a stone, hides it, and the others, repeating the words kil-kil-kānṭā, run about searching for it. Whoever finds the stone has a right to strike the boy who hid it three times with his fingers on the back of the hand.

گنجيفه ganjīfa P s. m. A pack of cards, a game of cards. گنجيفه ساز ganjīfa-sāz, Cardmaker.

کهول بندي khol-bandī S̱. s. f. The removing or remove of a horseʼs shoes. See چوبندي under چو chau.

گزير guzīr P s. Remedy, help. ¶ gazīr or gi- zīr, s. A person who collects the taxes of a town and pays them to the taḥṣīl-dār, a ma- nager or agent; a commander, a hero, the night watch.

کسبت kisbat A. (perhaps, for کسوت kiswat, Dress, garb: or کسبت Gain, way of gaining) s. f. 1. The case (or bag) barbers, surgeons, &c. keep their tools in. 2. A piece of leather worn by a bihishtī or waterman on his left hip, on which he rests the bag containing water. کسبت نامه kisbat-nāma, s. m. A book containing the histories of barbers, surgeons, &c. and directions for their practice. The bihishtīs also have such a book.

گليل gulail H (see غليل perhaps from Pers. گلوله or Sans. गोल A ball) s. f. A pellet-bow.

کناگت kanāgat कन्यागत S̱. s. f. A srāddha, or religious ceremony performed daily by Hin- dūs, during the dark half of the month Āsin, in honour of deceased ancestors, or pitr̤is. Hence that fortnight is called کنا.
