Short- sightedness. کوتاه پاچهہ kotāh-pācha, Name of a quadruped with a spotted back and with horns like a stag. کوتاه دست kotāh-dast, Short- handed; weak. کوتاه نظر kotāh-naz̤ar, adj. Shortsighted.

کالا kālā S̱. (Sans. काल) 1. adj. Black, dark. کالا چور kālā chor, An unknown person. 2. s. m. Name of a snake. 3. Time. 4. Name of Kr̤ish̤ṇa. کالا بال kālā bāl, s. m. The lower part of the belly, the pubes. کالا بال اپنا جاننا يا سمجهنا kālā bāl apnā jānnā or samajhnā, To despise (any one) exceedingly. کالا دانه kālā dāna, Name of a purgative seed. (Convolvu- lus nil?). کالا جيره kālā jīra, or کالا زيره kālā zīra, s. m. Seeds of the Nigella indica: Roxb. کالا منـہہ کرنا kālā muṅh karnā, 1. To break off all connexion with another. 2. To disgrace. 3. To copulate. 4. To expel. کالا نمک kālā namak, s. m. A kind of rock-salt impregnated with sulphur and bitumen, which leaves an hepa- tick flavour in the mouth. گچگينا gach-gīnā H adj. Short and fat (person).

کاتر कातर kātar S adj. Timid, timorous, confused, distressed, agitated with distress.

کانٿا kānṭā कण्टक S̱. s. m. 1. A thorn, spine. 2. A fork. 3. Small (goldsmithʼs) scales. 4. A spur. 5. A type. 6. The tongue of a ba- lance. 7. Fishing hook. 8. A fish-bone. کانٿا سا نکل جانا kānṭā sā nikal jānā, To be freed from distress or injury. کانٿون پر گهسيٿنا kānṭoṅ par ghasīṭnā (lit.) To drag upon thorns; to extol or exalt one above his merits. (Used by a person who from humility disclaims the praises bestowed on him). کانٿي بوني kānṭe bone, (lit. to plant thorns) To prepare distress or misfor- tune for oneʼs self.

گهات ghāt H s. f. Aim, design, snare, ambus- cade, ambush, opportunity. گهات تاکنا ghāt- tāknā, To watch an opportunity. گهات کرنا ghāt karnā, To waylay, to lie in ambush.

کلهيا kulhiyā H s. f. A cup, a small round vessel. کلهيا مين گڙپهوڙنا kulhiyā meṅ guṛ phoṛnā, (lit. To break sugar in a small cup) To endeavour to do with few hands a work which requires many.
