ابرا abrā P s. m. The outer fold of a double garment (distinguished from استر astar, the lining). See ابره abra.

امروت amrūt S̱. (Sans. अमृत) s. m. A guava (Psydium pyriferum).

آلان आलान ālān S s. m. The post to which an elephant is tied, or the rope that ties him.

احکام aḥkām A s. plur. (of حکم ḥukm) Orders, commands, decrees.

اجڙوانا ujaṛwānā S̱. (caus. of اجاڙنا) v. a. To lay waste by the hands of a third person.

الوش ulūsh T s. m. Same as الش ulash, q. v.

انفصال infiṣāl A (inf. vii. of فصل) s. m. Sepa- ration, division: settling, decision (of a cause). انفصال کرنا infiṣāl karnā, To decide, to settle.

اترن utaran S̱. (from उत्तीर्ण see under اترنا utarnā) s. f. A fragment, any thing taken off from the body; cast off clothes. اترن هونا utaran-honā, To be freed (from debt), to descend, alight.

آسوده āsūda P adj. At rest, quiet, tranquil, glutted, satiated, satisfied, at ease, contented. آسوده حال āsūda-ḥāl, Full, at ease, affluent, in easy circumstances, comfortable, &c. Plur. آسودگان āsūdagān, Those at rest or ease, the quiet. H. A. اسوقت is-waḳt, This time, now. H. A. اسوقت us-waḳt, That time, then.

ادت अदिति aditi S s. f. The wife of Kas- yapa, and mother of the gods.
