اقتصار iḳtiṣār A (inf. viii. of قصر) s. m. 1. Ab- breviation, abridgment, restriction. 2. Deter- mining or fixing the bounds of any thing. 3. Failing, wasting.

اسیسا usīsā उच्छीर्षक S̱. s. m. Pillow, cu- shion, head of a bed or resting place.

اکتساب iktisāb A (inf. viii. of کسب) s. m. Ac- quisition, gain.

آس ās S̱. (आशा) s. f. Hope, desire, trust, reliance. (Affixed to other words آس signifies inclination, and آسا possessed of inclination; as پیاس piyās, Thirst, and پیاسا piyāsā, Thirsty, from پي pī, Drink).

اٿکرلیس uṭakkarlais H adj. Precipitate, rash, acting without consideration.

آسکهہ āsikh आशिस् S̱. s. m. 1. A blessing, benediction. 2. Instruction.

اب ab A (contract. of ابو) s. m. A father.

الهانا alhānā S̱. (आल्हाद Joy, gladness) v. n. To rejoice, to be cheerful.

اتهان उत्थान ut-thān S s. Effort, rising up, manly exertion, battle, joy. उत्थान एकादशी utthān ekādasī, or देवठान devaṭhān, The eleventh of the sukl paksh̤ of Kārtik, when Vishnu awakes from sleep. (During the four months that he sleeps it is unlawful to marry).

ادارتا उदारता udār-tā S s. f. Liberality, ge- nerosity, munificence.
