گنيس गणेश gaṇes S The name of a Hindū di- vinity. The Janus of the Hindūs. The god of wisdom, represented with an elephantʼs head and attended by a rat. He was the son of Mahādeva and of a daughter of the mountain Himālaya, and is invoked at the commence- ment of every affair of consequence. S. گنين guṇ-iyan, adj. (in Braj) plur. of گني guṇ-ī, q. v. S. گو गो or गौ go or gau, s. m. f. A cow, one of the cow kind.

کمود kamūd H s. m. The name of a dying drug, being the dust from the outside of the capsules of Rottlera tinctoria; said to be, also, a purga- tive medicine and aphrodisiack.

گٿهوانا gaṭhwānā S̱. (causal of گٿهنا) v. a. To cause to join or to adhere or to tie together.

کليان कल्याण kalyāṇ S 1. s. m. Welfare, hap- piness, prosperity. 2. Name of a Rāg sung at night. 3. adj. Happy, well, right.

گولار golār S̱. (from Sans. गोल) s. m. Roundness. (Dial. of Bhojpūr).

کهيري khīr-ī क्षीरी S̱. s. f. An udder.

کنعان kanʼāﻌn A n. prop. (Heb. ) Canaan.

گلاٴي gulāʼī गोलता S̱. s. f. Roundness, rotun- dity.

کہا kahā S̱. (from کہنا) s. m. Saying, order, word, call, confession, affirmation, advice, leave. (In Braj same as کيا kyā, q. v.) What? which? how? why?
