آصف āṣaf A s. m. 1. The caper tree (Capparis spinosa). 2. The name of a man considered to have been Solomonʼs wazīr. آصف راي āṣaf rāʼe, Prudent as Āsaf. آصف الدوله āṣafu-d-daula, The Āsaf of the state.

اٿاري aṭā-rī S̱. s. f. A thatched upper room.

اعتکاف iﻌtikāf A (inf. viii. of عکف) s. m. 1. Continuing in the temple or mosque (especially at Mecca). 2. Restraining, curbing the pas- sions from religious motives, as in lent.

اگوا agwā S̱. or agūʼā (अग्रग or अग्रगामी) adj. Foremost. s. m. A guide, a forerunner, harbinger; one who adjusts a marriage.

اينڐهوا īnḍhūʼā H s. m. A roll or round fold on which a burthen is carried on the head.

ادهن adhan H s. m. Water set to boil for dres- sing victuals.

ادق adaḳḳ A adj. compar. (from دقیق) More or very abtruse, difficult, fine or minute.
