گهور घोर ghor S 1. s. m. Trepidation, dread, awe. 2. adj. Frightful, horrible, terrifick, aw- ful. گهور گهونٿنا ghor ghūnṭnā, To be inwardly displeased, to conceal oneʼs dislike or indigna- tion. 3. The sound of a drum. 4. adj. Deep (colour of a horse, or sleep).

کتانا katānā S̱. (causal of کاتنا Sans. कर्त्तन) v. a. To get spun, to cause to spin.

گزا gazā P 1. part. act. (of گزيدن) Biting, hurting. 2. s. Loss, hurt.

کہنه kuhna P adj. Old, ancient. کہنه سال kuhna- sāl, adj. Old, aged. کہنه سالي kuhna-sāl-ī, s. f. Old age.

گٿرمل gaṭarmal H s. m. A nick name for a monkey.

کاظم kāz̤im A (part. act. of کظم) adj. Restraining (anger).

کوچه kū-cha P (dimin. of کو or کوي) s. m. A lane, a narrow street. کوچه گدا kūcha-gadā, Street-beggar. کوچه گرد kūcha-gard, A streetwalker, a stroller, wanderer, vagrant, vagabond. کوچه گردي kūcha-gard-ī, s. f. Perambulating streets, strolling.

کهاوميت khāʼū-mīt S̱. adj. (dakh. i. q. حرصي) Greedy (?).

گيرا gairā H s. m. A sheaf (of corn).

گوڙيا gauṛiyā S̱. s. m. Inhabitant of Gauṛ; hence, the followers of Chaitanya of Nadiyā are so called. This philosopher flourished about the year 1407 of Sālivāhana. He was by birth a Brāhmaṇ; and, having become a Sannyāsī, maintained that the doctrines of the Vedas had been hitherto misunderstood, and explained them in a manner peculiar to himself. His sect is a branch of the Vaish̤ṇava or worshippers of Vish̤ṇu. His disciples in various parts of India are said to amount to five millions. His fol- lowers believe him to have been an incarnation of the deity.
