فـﮩميد fahmīd P (from فـﮩميدن which from Arab. فـﮩم) s. f. Understanding.

فردا fardā P adv. 1. Tomorrow. 2. (met. to ex- press the rapidity and certainty of its approach) The day of the resurrection. فرداي قيامت far- dā-e-ḳiyāmat, s. f. The day of resurrection.

فارغ fārig̠ẖ A (part. act. of فرغ) adj. 1. Free, disengaged, at leisure, ceasing from labour on finishing it. 2. Absolved, discharged. 3. Con- tented. فارغ البال fārig̠ẖu-l-bāl, or فارغ الحال fārig̠ẖu-l-ḥāl, adj. Independent, contented, at ease. فارغ خطي fārig̠ẖ-ḵẖat̤t̤-ī, s. f. A deed of release or discharge, quittance. فارغ هونا fārig̠ẖ honā, To cease on finishing (from).

فسرده fusurda P or fisurda, part. pass. (of فسردن) Frozen, withered, dejected. See افسرده afsurda.

فحوا faḥwā A s. m. Style, contents, signification, sense, drift, tenour, meaning. (Plur. فحاوي faḥāwī). فحواي کلام faḥwā-e-kalām, Significa- tion, sense, scope, meaning, spirit, contents, drift, tenour of the speech or discourse.

فصادي faṣṣād-ī A. s. f. Surgery, phlebotomy.

فريبندگي farebanda-gī P s. f. Deceitfulness, de- ceiving.

فاقه fāḳa A (from فوق Heb. ) s. m. 1. Po- verty, necessity, want. 2. (Pers. and in Hindī) A fast, fasting (from want, not as a religious duty). فاقه کرنا fāḳa karnā, To fast. فاقه کش fāḳa-kash, One who fasts, a faster, famished. فاقه کشي fāḳa-kash-ī, s. f. Fasting, endurance of hunger. فاقه کهـينچنا fāḳa khainchnā, or فاقون مرنا fāḳoṅ marnā, v. n. To starve, to be famished, to die with hunger. فاقه مست fāḳa- mast, One who is starving but conceals his distress.
