فسادي fasād-ī A. adj. Quarrelsome, vicious, mu- tinous, rebellious, seditious, mischievous, &c.

فروع furūﻌ A s. plur. (of فرع) Tops, summits, branches, heads or chiefs of a family.

فتوحي fatūḥ-ī A. (q. d. open; from فتح) s. f. A kind of jacket without sleeves.

فصيل faṣīl A (vulg. safīl, from فصل) s. f. Breast- work, parapet, intrenchment.

فاتحه fātiḥa A (from فتح) 1. s. m. Commence- ment, exordium. 2. s. f. The first chapter or سوره of the ḳurʼān, which being repeated when praying for the souls of the dead, the word comes to mean prayers offered up in the name of saints, &c. and vulgarly oblations made to saints, &c.

فخريه faḵẖr-īya A s. m. Ostentation, boasting.

فقرا fuḳarā A s. plur. (of فقير) Dervises, &c.

فريب fareb P (prop. fireb, from فريفتن or فريبيدن) 1. s. m. Deceit, trick, deception, fraud, allurement. 2. part. act. (in compos.) Cheating, deceiving; as, مردم فريب mardum-fareb, Betraying men. فريب آميز fareb-āmez, adj. Deceitful. فريب خورده fareb-ḵẖụrda, adj. Deceived. فريب دينا fareb denā, To deceive, delude, allure, cheat, defraud, cozen, beguile. فريب کار fareb-kār, adj. Deceitful. فريب کهـانا fareb-khānā, To be deceived or deluded.
