فريب fareb P (prop. fireb, from فريفتن or فريبيدن) 1. s. m. Deceit, trick, deception, fraud, allurement. 2. part. act. (in compos.) Cheating, deceiving; as, مردم فريب mardum-fareb, Betraying men. فريب آميز fareb-āmez, adj. Deceitful. فريب خورده fareb-ḵẖụrda, adj. Deceived. فريب دينا fareb denā, To deceive, delude, allure, cheat, defraud, cozen, beguile. فريب کار fareb-kār, adj. Deceitful. فريب کهـانا fareb-khānā, To be deceived or deluded.

فيروز fīroz P (or پيروز) adj. Victorious, happy, fortunate. قيروزاثر fīroz-as̤ar, Victorious, conquering. فيروزبخت fīroz-baḵẖt, Victorious. فيروزمند fīroz-mand, Victorious. فيروز مندي fīroz-mand-ī, s. f. Victory, prosperity.

فاق fāḳ A (vulg. fāg, from فوق) s. f. The notch of an arrow, arrow.

فرع farﻌ A s. f. A bough, a branch (of a tree, particularly the top branches). (Plur. فُروع).

فرمايش farmāʼịsh P (from فرمودن) s. f. An order (particularly for goods, &c.), commission, any thing commissioned, pleasure, will, commands.

فال fāl A s. f. 1. An omen, augury, presage. 2. Enchantment.

فرقان furḳān A (from فرق as distinguishing truth from falsehood) s. m. The ḳurʼān (Alcoran).

فراموش farāmosh P or farāmūsh, adj. Forgotten, forgetful.

فروز furoz P 1. part. act. (of فروختن) in compos. Kindling, inflaming, enlightening. 2. s. Splen- dour. فروز کرنا furoz karnā, To illuminate.
