عامل āﻌmil A (part. act. of عمل Heb. To work, to labour) s. m. An intendant of the finances, collector of the revenues, a ruler, go- vernour.

عقوبت uﻌḳūbat A (from عقب) s. f. Punishment, torment, chastisement, torture.

عذاب aﻌẕāb A (from عذب) s. m. Pain, misfor- tune, torment, martyrdom, punishment, an- guish.

عجايب aﻌjāʼịb A s. plur. (of عجيب) Wonders, curiosities. adj. Wonderful. عجايب ما̃ل aﻌjāʼịb- maʼāl, adj. Wonderful. عجايب وغرايب aﻌjāʼịb-o-g̠ẖarāʼịb, Wonders, curiosities, wonderful and strange things.
