عقبيٰ uﻌḳbạ̄ A (from عقب) s. m. End, conclusion, accomplishment, futurity, future state.

عديم aﻌdīm A (from عدم) adj. Destitute, deprived, not to be found. عديم المثال aﻌdīmu-l-mis̤āl, or عديم المثل aﻌdīmu-l-mis̤l, adj. Incomparable.

عينيه aﻌiniya A. adj. Of the eyes.

عمود aﻌmūd A s. m. A perpendicular (in geome- try). عمود صبح aﻌmūd-i-ṣubḥ, The morning rays or refulgence.

عدد aﻌdad A s. m. Number. عدد مطلق aﻌdad mut̤laḳ or عدد ذاتي aﻌdad ẕātī, Cardinal number. عدد وصفي aﻌdad waṣfī, Ordinal number.

علي aﻌlī A adj. High, eminent, noble; a proper name, especially of Muḥammadʼs son-in-law. ¶ aﻌlạ̄, adv. On, upon, according to, above, to, near. علي الاتصال aﻌlạ-l-ittiṣāl, Continually, without intermission. علي الاطلاق aﻌlạ-l-it̤lāḳ, Absolutely, solely. علي الخصوص aﻌlạ-l-ḵẖuṣūṣ, In particular. علي الدوام aﻌlạ-d-dawām, In per- petuity, for ever. علي الرغم aﻌlạ-r-rag̠ẖm, In spite, in opposition. علي الصباح aﻌlạ-ṣ-ṣabāḥ, In the morning. علي هذا القياس aﻌlạ hāẕa-l-ḳiyās, On this measure, in like manner. عليه aﻌlaihi, On him. عليه الرحمه aﻌlaihi-r-raḥma, On him (be) the mercy (of God). عليه السلام aﻌlaihi-s- salām, Blessing on him! عليـﮩم aﻌlaihim, On them. ¶ aﻌlạ̄, s. عفت iﻌffat A (from عفّ) s. f. Purity, chastity, continence, virtue, abstinence, modesty.

عامل āﻌmil A (part. act. of عمل Heb. To work, to labour) s. m. An intendant of the finances, collector of the revenues, a ruler, go- vernour.

عبوديت uﻌbūdīyat A (from عبد) s. f. Servitude, devotion, subjection, reverence.

عمل aﻌmal A (Heb. ) s. m. Action, act, opera- tion, work, practice, effect, rule, sway, jurisdic- tion. عملدار aﻌmal-dār, s. m. 1. One who has command. 2. A collector. عمل داري aﻌmal dār-ī, s. f. Collectorship, government. عمل کرنا aﻌmal-karnā, To act, operate, proceed.
