طوفان t̤ūfān A (from طوف To go round, to encircle; or, rather, Ch. and Syr. from Ch. and To drop, to flow, to overflow) s. m. 1. An inundation or deluge. 2. The universal deluge. 3. طاقت t̤āḳat A s. f. Strength, power, force, pa- tience, ability. طاقت آزماٴي t̤āḳat-āzmā-ī, s. f. Trial of strength. طاقت سي طاق هونا t̤āḳat se t̤āḳ honā, To be weak, feeble, powerless. A.P. طاقچه t̤āḳ-cha, s. m. dimin. of طاق q. v.

طي t̤ai A (Heb. To spin) s. m. Rolling up, folding, travelling, passing or crossing over. طي کرنا t̤ai karnā, 1. To fold, to roll up. 2. To constrain. 3. To abridge. 4. To travel, to pass or cross over. طي هونا t̤ai honā, To be travelled over.

طياري t̤aiyār-ī A. s. f. Readiness, preparation.

طويل t̤awīl A (from طول) adj. Long, tall, prolix, diffuse.

طبله t̤abla A s. m. 1. A small tambourin. 2. A wooden dish, or large platter, generally of wood and painted, on which fruits, perfumes, &c. are exposed for sale or as presents.
