طوطي t̤ūt̤ī P (from Pers. توتي) s. f. A parrot, a paroquet. طوطي کي سي هونٿهـ مل ڐالنا t̤ūt̤ī ke se honṭh mal ḍālnā (lit.) To rub or twist oneʼs parrot-like lips, is used by way of an affectionate or friendly admonition; thus: بولا نکراي يار تو هر يک سي بگڙکر مل ڐاليگا طوطي سي کوٴي هونٿهـ پکڙکر Bolā na kar ai yār tū har yak se bigaṛkar; mal ḍālegā t̤ūt̤ī se koʼī honṭh pakaṛkar, Do not, my love, indulge in the habit of speaking an- grily to every one; lest some one should twist those lips of thine which emulate the parrotʼs in redness.

طبله t̤abla A s. m. 1. A small tambourin. 2. A wooden dish, or large platter, generally of wood and painted, on which fruits, perfumes, &c. are exposed for sale or as presents.

طالع t̤āliﻌ A part. act. (of طلع) 1. Rising (as, the sun), arising, appearing. 2. s. m. Fortune, prosperity. 3. Destiny (good or bad), horo- scope. 4. The dawn. طالع آزماٴي t̤āliﻌ-āzmā-ī, s. f. Wealth. طالع ور t̤āliﻌ-war, adj. 1. Fortunate. 2. Wealthy. طالع وري t̤āliﻌ-war-ī, s. f. Good fortune.
