ضميمه ẓamīma A s. m. Addition, thing incorpo- rated, incorporation.

ضماير ẓamāʼịr A s. plur. of ضمير ẓamīr, q. v.

ضامن ẓāmin A (part. act. of ضمن) s. m. A surety, a sponsor, security, bail, bondsman.

ضحا ẓuḥā A (from ضحو To be exposed to the sun. Heb. To be white or shining) s. m. Break- fast-time, that part of the day, about half-way between sunrise and meridian (i. e. the brightest part of the day). عيد الضحا īﻌdu-ẓ-ẓuḥā, s. f. Name of a festival celebrated on the 10th of ẕī-ḥijja, when an animal is sacrificed in com- memoration of Abrahamʼs sacrifice of his son Ismaʼīﻌl, according to the Musalmāns.

ضابط ẓābit̤ A (part. act. of ضبط) s. m. A gover- nour, master, possessor, restrainer. ضابط الکلّ ẓābit̤u-l-kull, Omnipotent (God), lord of all.

ضيق ẓīḳ A (Heb. ) s. m. Anguish, vexation, melancholy, affliction, anxiety, doubt, oppres- sion of spirit, or any thing that tortures the mind, hippishness. ضيق النفس ẓīḳu-n-nafas, s. m. The asthma. ¶ ẓaiḳ or ẓaiyiḳ, adj. Contracted, narrow, straitened. ط

ضم ẓamm A (Chald. To contract, to draw together) s. m. 1. Contraction, conjunction, incorporation. 2. The vowel point (ُ) pro- nounced as the Italian short u or as the English u in full.

ضارب ẓārib A part. act. (of ضرب) Beating, bruising, striking, stamping, coining.
