شيخ shaiḵẖ A (vulg. sheḵẖ) s. m. An old man, a venerable old man; a chief, a prelate, a title taken by the descendants of the prophet, and given to proselytes to Muhammadanism. شيخًا shaiḵẖaṉ, adv. In the manner of a chief, au- thoritatively. شيخ ڐونڐو shaiḵẖ-ḍoṅḍū, A figure dressed up by way of sport or charm. شيخنا shaiḵẖanā, MyLord! my preceptor! my patron!
