شگوفه shugūfa P or shigūfa, or (in Hind.) shagū- fa, s. m. A flower, a bud. شگوفه لانا shugūfa lānā, 1. To bud, to put forth young shoots. 2. To produce something new and wonderful.

شگفتگي shugufta-gī P s. f. Expanding of a flower, blooming; delight, astonishment.

شوال shauwāl A s. m. The tenth month of the Muhammadan year; on the first day of which the festival of Bairām, or īﻌd is celebrated, being the first day after the musalmān Lent; and, on this day it is customary to make presents, &c.

شہنا shahnā P s. f. A musical wind instrument, a pipe, a clarion.

شل shal P s. A sort of fine coloured leather in- serted in the seams of shoes, saddles, &c. ¶ shul, adj. Soft. ¶ shil, s. A small spear, a round fruit resembling a quince.
