شيشم shīsham शिंशपा S̱. s. f. A kind of wood. (Dalbergia sisu: Roxb.).

شفت shafat A (Heb. ) s. m. The mouth, the lip.

شرماشرمي sharmā sharmī P. adv. Modestly. P.H. شرمانا sharm-ānā (from شرم) v. n. To be abashed, to feel shame, to be ashamed. P.H. شرماو sharm-āʼū, adj. Bashful. See شرمنده.

شوخ shoḵẖ P adj. Mischievous, playful, pert, saucy, brisk, cheerful, buxom, sly, humorous, wanton, strong, insolent, presumptuous. شوخ چشم shoḵẖ-chashm, adj. Wanton-eyed, having a playful eye, unceremonious. شوخ چشمي shoḵẖ-chashm-ī, s. f. Wantonness or playfulness of the eye.

شولا sholā H s. m. Ӕschynomene paludosa: Roxb. (The wood of which, being very light and spongy, is used by fishermen for floating their nets. A variety of toys, such as artificial birds and flowers, are made of it. Garlands of those flowers are used in marriage ceremo- nies. When charred it answers the purpose of tinder).

شايق shāʼịḳ A (part. act. of شوق Heb. To desire) adj. Full of desire, desirous, lascivious, fond.

شمر shimar A n. prop. The name of one of Ya- zīdʼs generals, who slew Ḥusain in the plains of Karbalā; and hence now means, vile, infa- mous, &c

شيہه shīha P s. m. Neighing of a horse. ص
