شہوت shahwat A s. f. Concupiscence, sensuality, lust, desire, appetite. شہوت انگيز shahwat- angez, adj. Lust-exciting, provocative, lasci- vious. شہوت پرست shahwat-parast, adj. Las- civious, sensual, carnal. شہوت پرستي shahwat- parast-ī, s. f. Sensuality.

شحنه shaḥna A (or shiḥna, from شحن To drive away, to propel) s. m. 1. A viceroy, lieutenant, representative, superintendent of police. 2. A peon, or servant of a tax-gatherer.

شجر shajar A (perhaps from Heb. Offspring, issuing forth, springing up. Plur. اشجار) s. m. A tree, a plant. A.P. شجرنامه shajar-nāma, s. m. A list of saints, or holy predecessors (in the manner of a genealogical tree) given to disciples.

شعبه shuʼba A s. m. The cleft or crack of a moun- tain in which water stands, a channel in which water flows especially through the sand.
