شوق shauḳ A (Heb. q. d. motion or ten- dency towards any point, from To walk hastily, to run about) s. m. 1. Desire, inclina- tion, love, eagerness, avidity, fondness. 2. Gaye- ty, cheerfulness. 3. شولا sholā H s. m. Ӕschynomene paludosa: Roxb. (The wood of which, being very light and spongy, is used by fishermen for floating their nets.
