سامي sāmī S̱. (from शंव) s. f. A ferrule.

سيل शील sīl S s. m. Nature, quality, disposi- tion; good conduct or disposition, steady and uniform observance of law and morals. آنکهون مين سيل هونا ānkhoṅ meṅ sīl honā, To be polite, generous, &c.

سکهرن sikharan शिखरिणी S̱. s. m. A kind of dish made of coagulated milk and sugar.

سپاره sipāra P (contract. of سي Thirty, and پاره A piece) s. m. One of the thirty sections, or the thirty sections into which the ḳurʼān is divided. See سيپاره.

سنگسي sangsī S̱. s. f. Pincers, forceps. See سنڙسي saṅṛsī.

سونہين soṅhīṅ सम्मुख S̱. adv. Face to face, opposite, before, in front.

سينبل sembal S̱. s. m. The silk cotton tree. (Bom- bax heptaphyllum). See سيمل semal.

سفير safīr A s. m. An envoy, an ambassadour.

سبو sabū P s. m. A jar, a pitcher, a cup, a glass, an ewer. سبوبدوش sabū ba-dosh, A carrier or bearer of the سبو sabū.
