سرت sarit S (सरित्) s. f. A river (in ge- neral).

سبحان subʼḥān A s. m. Praising, glorifying (God). سبحان الله subʼḥāna-llāh, interj. O God! O holy God! Good God! Ha! سبحانه subʼḥāna-hu, Praise to him!

سہيلي sahelī S̱. (or dakh. sahailī, from सह To- gether, and आली A female friend) s. f. A womanʼs female companion, a handmaid, dam- sel, concubine.

سماروغ samārūg̠ẖ P s. m. A white mushroom resembling an egg.

سوزنده sozanda P (part. act. of سوختن) adj. Burning; burner.

سپلو स With, and पल्लव Sprout, shoot sa- pallav S. adj. With sprouts, shoots, or twigs (a pot, &c. in times of rejoicing).

سيپاره sī-pāra P (سي Thirty, and پاره Piece, di- vision, viz. a thirty piece) 1. s. m. Each one of the thirty sections, or the thirty sections, into which the ḳurʼān is divided. 2. adj. Of thirty pieces. See سپاره sipāra.

سکچنا sukuchnā S̱. or sakuch-nā (संकोचन) v. n. To fear, to be afraid of, to be in awe of, to be abashed, to apprehend, to be apprehensive.

سانگ sāng S̱. (Sans. शंकु or शक्ति) s. f. A spear, or javelin, all of iron.
