سيان syān H s. f. Name of a bird.

سيد saiyid A (verbal adj. from سود) s. m. 1. A lord, a prince. 2. A descendant of Ḥusain, who was the grandson of the prophet Muḥammad. سيد الانام saiyidu-l-anām (the prince of men and of all living creatures), سيد البشر saiyidu-l-bashar (the prince of mortals), سيد المرسلين يا انبيا saiyidu-l-mursalīn or -ambiyā (the head of the apostles, or prophets) are epithets of Muḥammad.

سرهنگ sar-hang P 1. s. m. A general, com- mander, captain, chief, overseer, boatswain, a foot soldier. 2. adj. Disobedient, violent, re- bellious, strong.
