سوکها sūkhā शुष्क S̱. 1. adj. Dry. 2. s. m. Dry tobacco eaten with betel-leaf. 3. A consumption, atrophy. سوکهادهان sūkhā dhān, Rice burnt up by the sunʼs rays. سوکها لگنا sūkhā lagnā (dakh.) To be famished, to become ema- ciated.

سپتر saputr सुपुत्र S̱. s. m. A tractable or duti- ful son. See سپوت.

سنگارنا singārnā S̱. (from शृंगार) v. a. To dress, to decorate, to embellish.

سروش sarosh P (prop. surosh) s. m. 1. An angel. 2. A voice from heaven. 3. The seventeenth day of the solar month.

سماپت समाप्त samāpt S adj. Finished, conclud- ed, accomplished, perfected. ¶ (for समाप्ति) samāpti, s. m. End, completion, perfection, conclusion, finish.

سنسار संसार sansār S s. m. The world.

سونيا soniyā S̱. (from سونا) s. m. One who sepa- rates gold from ashes, &c. in the mint.

سرور sarwar S̱. or sarovar (सरोवर) s. m. A lake, a pond, a tank.

سالن sālan H s. m. Meat, or fish, &c. eaten with bread or rice.

سستاٴي sastā-ī H s. f. Cheapness.
