سونيا soniyā S̱. (from سونا) s. m. One who sepa- rates gold from ashes, &c. in the mint.

سہايک सहायक sahāyak S s. m. A succourer, aider, ally.

سگاٴي sagā-ī S. s. f. 1. Relationship by the same parents, consangui- nity, relationship, kin. (dakh.) Friendship. 2. Betrothing for marriage. 3. Second marriage of a woman of low tribe. سگاٴي کرنا sagā-ī karnā, To contract a marriage, to affiance, to betroth.

سانس sāṅs श्वास S̱. s. f. Breath, sigh. سانس الٿي ليني sāṅs ulṭī lenī, To gasp or draw in the breath (as, a person in agony). سانس بهرنا sāṅs bharnā, To sigh, to regret. سانس رکنا sāṅs ruknā, To be smothered or throttled. سانس روکنا sāṅs roknā, v. a. To suffocate, stifle.

سيس sīs S̱. s. m. 1. (शीर्ष) The head. سيس چرهانا sīs-chaṛhānā, See سرچڙهانا sir chaṛhānā, under سيس پهول .سر sīs-phūl, s. m. An or- nament for the head (worn by females). 2. (शिखा) A freckle, flame, spike. (Beng.).
