سخره suḵẖra A s. m. 1. Derision. 2. One de- rided, a ridiculous person; one who is forced to labour without reward, pressed to service.

سوچهمتا sūchhamtā S or sūchh̤ma-tā (सूक्ष्मता) s. f. 1. Subtileness, minuteness. 2. Shrillness.

سٿکاٴي satkāʼī H (from سٿک) s. f. Taperingness, vanishing of a tapering body at the extreme point, disappearance.

سرا sarā A or sarāh, s. m. A tree from which bows are made.

سپتهہ शपथ sapath S s. f. An oath, an asseve- ration.

ستکهنا satkhanā S̱. (सप्त Seven, and खंड Part) adj. Of seven divisions or stories (a house, &c.). S̱. H. ستلڙا sat-laṛ-ā, adj. Sevenfold, of seven strings or rows (a chain of pearls, &c.). ستلڙي sat- laṛ-ī, s. f. A necklace of seven strings.

سدا sadā सदा S̱. adv. Always. سداپهل sadā- phal, 1. s. m. A fabled fruit, eating of which confers long life, &c. 2. adj. Constantly bearing fruit (epithet of a tree). 3. A kind of lemon. سداسو सदाशिव sadā-siva, A name of Mahādeva: see سو siva. سداسـہ‍اگن sadā- suhāgan, s. f. 1. The name of a bird (Trogon dilectus: Buch. MSS.). 2. Name of a flower (Hibiscus phœniceus: the white variety). 3. A kind of faḳīr dressed like a woman.
