سائي sāʼe P part. (of ساييدن) in compos. Rub- bing, &c.: see سا sā, sign. 3. ¶ sā-ī, in compos. s. f. Rubbing. جبين سائي jabīn-sā-ī, s. f. Rubbing the forehead (on the ground in adoration).

سنجوگ sanjog S (संयोग from सं and r. युज Join) s. m. 1. Accident, event, occurrence, chance, hap, luck. 2. Intimate union or as- sociation, conjunction.

سنبهالنا sambhālnā S̱. v. a. See سمبهالنا.

ساون sāwan श्रावण S̱. s. m. The name of the fourth Hindū month, the full moon of which is near श्रवणा or a Aquilæ, July-August. ساون هري نه بهادون سوکهي sāwan hare na bhādoṅ sūkhe (Flourishing in summer and not fading in autumn) is applied to express continuance in the same state or situation.

سجلا sajlā H s. m. Third brother of four or more.

سوراتي saurāt-ī H adj. (dakh.) Greedy, avaricious, ambitious.

سامبهر sāmbhar शाकम्मरीय S̱. s. m. 1. The name of a town, near Ajmīr, in the vicinity of which is a lake, from which salt is extracted. 2. The salt itself.
