ستهاپن स्थापन sthāpan S s. m. Causing to stand, placing, fixing, founding, erecting.

سگهڙٴي sughṛa-ī S̱. (from سگهڙ sughaṛ) s. f. Elegancy, accomplishment.

سوندها sondhā S̱. (from सुगंध) s. m. 1. A com- position of fragrant substances used for washing the hair. 2. Smelling like that of a new earthen vessel when wetted or from parching of pulse.

سيپاره sī-pāra P (سي Thirty, and پاره Piece, di- vision, viz. a thirty piece) 1. s. m. Each one of the thirty sections, or the thirty sections, into which the ḳurʼān is divided. 2. adj. Of thirty pieces. See سپاره sipāra.

سوچنا sochnā S̱. (शोचन r. शुच Be sorry) v. a. n. To consider, think, meditate, advert, reflect, imagine, conceive.

سورٿها sorṭhā सौराष्ट़ S̱. s. m. Name of a metre in Braj-bhākh̤ā.

سجهانا sijhānā S̱. (from सिद्ध) v. a. To tan, to boil, to seeth, to melt.

سرفراز sar-farāz P adj. Exalted, eminent, dis- tinguished, promoted. سرفرازکرنا sar-farāz karnā, To exalt, dignify, honour, ennoble.

سورتا शूरता sūr-tā S s. f. Valour, heroism. سورتا دهاري sūrtā-dhārī, Heroick.

سار sār P 1. A particle denoting plenty, magni- tude, or similitude; as, کوهسار koh-sār, A moun- tainous country. عنبرسار aﻌmbar-sār, Full of ambergris. شاه سار shāh-sār, Like a king. 2. Head; as نگونسار nigūṅ-sār, Inverted, with the head undermost. 3. A camel. 4. The name of a black bird of a musical voice, called in Shīrāz گاوتنگ.
