سندر सुंदर sundar S adj. 1. Beautiful, hand- some, comely, seemly. 2. Good, virtuous.

سوهنا sohnā S̱. 1. v. n. (शोभन) To become, to beseem. 2. v. a. (शोधन) To weed.

سامنا sāmnā S̱. (सम्मुख) s. m. Encountering, confronting, facing, front, opposition. سامهناکرنا sāmhnā karnā, To confront, oppose, encounter.

سنچهيپن संक्षेपण sanchh̤epaṇ S s. Abridgment, abbreviation, conciseness, brevity. S. سنچي संचय (from सं prep. and r. चि Gather) sanchai, s. m. Purse, capital, stock, store, saving, heaping up, hoard.

سونگها sūngh-ā S̱. adj. 1. Stanch (as, a dog). 2. (used substantively) A person employed in Ma- hārātta armies, who is said to be able to detect hidden treasure or grain by the smell of the earth.

ستار sutār S̱. s. m. 1. (सूत) A carpenter. 2. (सुतारा comp. of सु Good, and तारा Star) Time, opportunity.

سکت sakat S̱. or sakti (शक्ति) s. f. 1. Power, strength, ability. 2. sakti, The energy or active power of a deity, personified as his wife, as Gaurī of Siva, Laksh̤mī of Vish̤ṇu. 3. The female organ as the counterpart of the phallick personification of Siva, and worshipped either literally or figuratively by a sect of Hindūs, thence termed saktas. (Wilson).

سيخ پا sīḵẖ-pā P adj. Rearing, rearer (a horse).

سبابه sabbāba A s. The forefinger.
