انکاؤ ankāo S̱. (from انکانا) s. m. Valuation, ap- praisement. S. انکت अनुक्त (अन् and उक्त Told, r. वच् Tell) an-ukt, adj. Not told. s. m. A trope.

اشتیاق ishtiyāk A (inf. viii. of شوق) s. m. Wish, desire, strong inclination. S. اشٿ इष्ट (r. इष Desire) ish̤ṭ, part. De- sired, approved, reverenced; adored, respected, beloved. s. m. A god, a deity, an object, a beloved person, any thing wished for.

احوال aḥwāl A s. m. (plur. of حال hāl) Con- dition, circumstances, events, occurrences, state, account. احوال بتلانا aḥwāl batlānā, To state oneʼs condition. احوال پرسان aḥwāl-pursān, Asking after health, &c. احوال پرسي aḥwāl-pursī, s. f. Inquiry after health, circumstances, &c. احوال پوچهنا aḥwāl pūchhnā, To inquire after health, &c.

استیلا istīlā A (inf. x. ولي) s. m. Predominance, conquest.

الهیا alhaiyā H s. f. Name of a rāginī.

انگرکها angarkhā S̱. (अंगरक्षा i. e. अंग Body, and रक्षा Protection) s. m. A coat, doublet.

آنچ ānch H s. f. Heat, flame of a fire (not of a candle), blaze, glare.

امامیه imāmiya A (Followers) of the Imām; name of a Muhammadan sect, who make Alī the rightful imām immediately after Muhammad.

انبت ambat S̱. adj. Sour. See امل अम्ल.

آوبهگت āʼobhagat H or āʼobhagati, s. f. Civil re- ception or salutation, welcome, courteousness.
